We are successfully weaning and I really need to dry up my milk I've read about the ibprofun (sp), sage, currently using cabbage leaves and ice packs and its helping but we had our 1st 24hrs of no nursing(sigh) and today my boobs were so full and in pain.
Any info on how much to take of sage, ibprofun or other ideas is appricaited...TIA...

I asked about the same thing for someone else I know that wants to dry her milk up...sounds like you are doing the right things. Haven't heard of using ibuprofen for drying up milk. Might you be thinking of pseudophedrine??
Have you tried eating/drinking really minty items like tea or Altoids?
May I ask what the reason is for weaning? Just curious is all. Have you done a gradual wean so far?

I think the ibuprofen is for pain now that I think about it, yes I'm also taking the pseudophedrine, and trying sage (YUCK!) so we'll see if it helps I can tell it is a little I'm not near as full today as I was yesterday.
We have begun weaning gradually first days, now nights...honestly she just lost interest in BF she'd nurse a little and go to sleep or be ready to go play she'd rather have her sippy cup she's already given up bottles too! I know that I can pump for her as I have been during the past nine months, but we decided if she was ready to move on I would too and she loves cow's milk she'd steal her brothers milk and drink it and say mmmmm... LOL! So this is the decision that's best for us. I'm very very proud that we've gone this long I love it and will miss it greatly but I know I'll do it again!
