Due to Chronic Pancreatitis. I have malabsorbtion. My pancreas isn't making enough enzymes to break down my food and absorb it. So I have to take Pancreatic Enzyme pills to help break down my food and absorb it into my body.
I haven't been to the GI clinic for a year for my chronic pancreatitis. I have an appointment to go back next month. They ran upper and lower GI's and found nothing. They said that they will start concentrating on my pancreas. I am just scared to death that I have Pancreatic cancer and or liver cancer. I have no appetite. When I do eat, I can't eat very much and I get stuffed easily. Like if i eat a banana, I am stuffed after eating a banana.
My family tells me not to look on the enternet because I scare myself. Like when I was having gullbladder problems, I was looking up symptoms and it always turned up cancer. I need to stop searching on the enternet and scareing myself half to death.
Does anyone else have a chronic condition when your symptoms first showed before getting a diagnosis? Did you research the internet to and scare yourself half to death while checking out your symptoms on google??

Wow, that is a lot of weight, how much do you weigh now? Why would you not go to the Dr sooner?

The internet can be a very informative place as long as you are not replacing it with a visit to your DR, it sounds like you need to go, best of luck to you.

I went from 312 lbs to 200 lbs. I went to the GI clinic last year. They were going to do this procedure where they run a light down my throat and use ultrasound waves on the pancreas. They were going to shoot dye in my pancreas to see what is going on and they were going to take biopsies. The day of the procedure last year I had a cold and sent me home.
When they were scoping me at both ends, I was awake the WHOLE time. I have a high tolerance to narcotics. I was taking Clonipin at the time. They told me that the Clonipin kept me from being sedated. So I thought I would stop the Clonipin and let it get out of my system and then I would go back to have the procedure done to my pancreas.
They went ahead and prescribed me pancreatic enzymes. I thought I would be Ok if I waited till the Clonipin got out of my system. I was losing weight and I was sooo happy. But now as time went on my symptoms got worse. I am haveing pain acrossed my upper abdominal area. I think (hope) I have adhesions from me gullbladder surgery that is causing the pain where my liver is.

Thanks. I went to the GI clinic last year and had all kinds of GI workups done and I planned to go back. But I just put it off.

My husband has a chronic condition, if you type his symptoms in google, you would come up with several possible diagnosis, some of which are pretty scary. But you most likely would not find his true condition, which is not lethal. The tricky part is getting a Dr to make the correct diagnosis, it took us a couple of months and lots of tests and some begging to be referred to a specialist to get the answer.
BTW, his condition wasn't even something we had heard of, let alone even suspected. So the internet does not replace a good Dr, atleast in some cases.

I am sorry about your DH's chronic condition.
While I was going to the GI clinic last year. They ran all kinds of tests. I had to give stool samples and that is when I found out I had a malabsortion problem. They went through the process of alimination. They said that they will concentrate on my Pancreas now that all the GI tests was OK except for my stool sample.

so make an appointment with the doctor today.
I had my yearly physical and I asked if I needed another referral to the GI clinic because of my Chronic Pancreatitis and the doctor said yes.
I called the GI clinic and my appointment is towards the middle of June.

Pancreatitis can be very dangerous. Please take care of yourself. Call the GI clinic again and tell someone to please let you know if an earlier appointment comes available.

Thanks. I will do that in the morning. I am almost out of pancreatic enzymes. Anything I eat now just runs right through me.

I did exactly that first thing this morning and the receptionist put me on the "Cancel list". :woohoo: TY Judy for posting this. I didn't even think about that and I didn't know that you can do that.
