my baby dog Ekard is rather skinny and does not eat much (he had a terrible past where he was starved) sooo here goes...
someone gave me a can of lacto-free formula so i just thought, maybe i can give him formula to help him gain wait?
sorry if this is a spin off from PEM's thread, but hers got me to thinking. we don't need formula round here so i thought i could give it to him? he is 1.5 years old.
let me know if you all think it is ok...?

I think that's probably a question best asked of your vet.

Sigh. I'm solving the world's problems tonight. Let me call my mother the vet. I warn you though- she is currently specializing in rhinos, hippos, and elephants!

Aw he's precious!
Nope, you can't give it to him. It will just give him diarrhea. If he is having trouble gaining weight there may be underlying health issues. He should probably have a blood and sotol panel done.
He doesn't look that skinny in the pic. He is very handsome though.

He is not anorexic skinny but for his size he should weigh more. the vet says there is nothing wrong with him, he is just scared to eat. There are a lot of times i hand feed him. of which i had to do for about the first 2 months he was with me.

He eats, but not as much as his brother. he is around 70-72 lbs and he is very tall and long. Drake is a bit shorter and weighs 85 lbs.
