I had posted here a while back that there were 7 nurses pregnant in our NICU/nursery. Well one of them lost her baby at 24 wks. :( I am just so heart broken for her because she had been trying for so long and the staff had just given her her baby shower.

She notice the baby was not moving very much the day after the shower so she came in and her baby was gone.

:( We were all in tears yesterday and I just cannot imagine how she is going to return to work while everyone else is leaving on maternity leave and having their babies when she should be having hers.

On top of the pain of loosing her baby she has to help moms with their newborns when/if she comes back. My heart aches so much right now for her please send T&P for her and her family.

:( I'll say a prayer for her. That is horrible and my heart breaks for her.

I'm so sorry to hear of her loss...my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

My cousin's baby would have been 4 weeks old today (she was born still).

What a terrible thing to happen. I can't imagine how difficult coming back to work would be. I wish her much healing.

My thoughts and prayers are with her. What a difficult field to work in when you've suffered such a loss. :(

One of the nurse managers was talking to the staff this morning and she said that since there were so many pregnant people in one area that something was bound to happen due to statistics. I was worried about that as well and right now the nursery manager who is 35wks has been put on bed rest due to irritable uterus. They gave her something to stop her contractions last night so hopefully she is doing ok. I can't wait till June is over because the majority of them are due in June.

Isn't 24 wks a little early for a baby shower? It would be horrible to loose a child and then have to go home to all of that baby stuff.

I'm so sorry! I work on labor and delivery and one of our nurses lost her little one at 21 wks. 3 days after Christmas this past year. Her due date is this Sun. (Mother's Day of all days). My heart still hurts for her, but she seems to be doing really well. I'm so proud of her. I know Sun. will be a mixed blessing. She has 2 older children. I'll be praying for your friend. It truly doesn't get any harder than that! It's so awful.

Yes 24 weeks is a little early for a baby shower but when you have 7 pregnant women on staff who will all be leaving to have their babies you gotta start early. :) They have a baby shower once a month around here.
