My grandma was diagnosed with cancer

Yesterday my Baboo found out that she has uterine cancer. It is early, and they think that it is still completely contained and are very optimistic.

My momma is coming into town tonight for a family meeting. We've all got to come up with a plan of who can take care of her at what times when she has surgery (which a date hasn't been set yet).

Since my momma has DD right now I am already at Baboo's, just being here if she needs anything. Nobody thought that she should be alone today. She really isn't handling the news well. My aunt will be with her all weekend.

Please keep my Baboo in your thoughts and/or prayers. I have so many wonderful memories of my own great-grandparents and I want DD to be able to have the same kind of memories of her great-grandma.

She has an appointment on Wednesday to run more tests, and then they will set a date for surgery.

Judy, we should know a little more on Wednesday, and then even more sometime the following week. We went through this with my granddaddy for 3 years back when I was a teenager. He had lung cancer. I had forgotten how much waiting there was to do for everything. Test and wait, test and wait, procedures and more tests and then wait even more. :(

Her appointment has been moved to tomorrow afternoon. Both my momma and my aunt will be there with her. Hopefully we will know more then.

Good luck to your Grandmother. I know too well how hard the waiting is. I found the waiting to be the hardest part when DH had cancer. I figured we could deal with whatever it was - that it was more scary to not know what stage and not have a treatment plan. She'll be in my thoughts tomorrow.
