I think i would like a carrier for my son (15 months and a lil over 20lbs). something i can do on my hip and back so i think Mei tei is the best bet.

Which do you have? love it? I have designed a babyhawk but just wondering if that is the "best" per se.

anyone have experience w/ a toddlerhawk AND a babyhawk?

So, tell me what you like and where you got it.

I have a Babyhawk and another brand. I prefer the baby hawk because it is a little wider. Although the other one I have adjusts at the waist strap for a newborn which is great. I also make mei tais, I base them off the babyhwawk but do a higher head rest similar to the toddler hawk.

k do u make them and sell them or just kinda for yourself? I'm only five ft 2, should i consider a toddlerhawk?

also, OT but i took a pic of my son in this CUTE monkey Tshirt and shorts the other day and was thinking of your boys (I believe its you that likes monkies! LOL)

I make them and sell them but I don't think I have it in me right now, I have a lot going on. I am 5'3" and a toddler hawk is fine. Just keep in mind that a newborn would kind of get lost in there. Which isn't a problem for me , but some people might not like it. If you can afford it, go for the Babyhawk.

I LOVE my Beco Butterfly II for a back carry! It is the only carrier I can get DD in *on my front* and then flip her around due to the panel that is between baby and wearer. I put her on my front, then leave it strapped around my waist, take off the shoulder straps and flip her onto my back super fast and easy - quick on/off in parking lots. I could only get DD on my back in a mei tai using my bed to lay her in the carrier, then put her on - but I have terrible arm flexibility, though, so that may just be me. But I do love the Beco and can wear DD for hours in it without any back pain (she is around 21 or so pounds). It's pricey but has been worth every penny to me :)

I would also recommend the Ergo for your situation. Although I don't know that you wear it on your hip.
