I have an almost full 10 pound bag of sugar that I found ants in. Can I compost it or should it just go in the trash?

it seems maybe you're supposed to put sugar in it

I'd guess you can compost it, but if your pile is not active enough to be nice and hot, you'll have ants in the compost for a while.

Maybe it'll keep the ants out of the kitchen...

I think it would just bring new ones. I would dump it but I cant stand ants!

Is it bad to have ants in the compost pile?

If you have an ant probem maybe you could use the ruined sugar to make ant poison.

Sift the sugar to get the ants out. Then cook up a sugary syrup with sugar and water. Then dillute the syrup and pour it around some of your plants.

Nah, just cook the ants too. It will save time. :)
