Our friggin' AC went out last night! It's after 11 PM here, and it's over 90° in this room right now. I don't sweat, so that's another issue.
I just don't know how much more I can take.

I'm sorry Judy, how long is she there for? Any hope for the AC to get fixed soon?

She'll be here for 10 days. The bad thing is that she's trying, so I can't even get pissed off at her to make myself feel better. :p She is going to be using my shampoo and conditioner, and she even bought unscented deodorant. The problem, though, is that when someone uses scents all the time, it's in all of the clothes, suitcase, etc.
Someone is supposed to be here in the morning to look at the AC. I'm hoping it's the condenser since it's still under warranty (we've had nothing but problems with our AC since we've lived here, and we had to have the condenser replaced a few years ago). It's acting different than it did last time, though, so I suspect it isn't. If it's something expensive, there's no way we can afford to have it fixed right now.

That sucks. Hopefully it is the condenser. And good luck with your MIL. It's nice that she's trying, right?

Yes, it's good that she's trying.

Judy, my MIL smokes. She no longer smokes around us or anything, but her clothes, her home, all of it smells like smoke. When the kids get X-mas presents from her, they smell like smoke too. She will be staying here when Dh and I go to D.C. in July. I know she won't smoke in the house or when the kids are near her, but ugh, I know that I will have to wash the patio and air the house out for days when we get back. At least your MIL is trying! I hope her visit goes as well as possible!

Yikes, that sucks. It's not good that you don't sweat. That's how the body cools itself. That must really suck. I'm sorry. :(

Can you ask MIL to wear a special smoking jacket? It helps greatly to reduce the smell once a person comes back inside. The jacket would stay on the patio.
