I just realized that my dd's Evenflow Titan doesnt fit well in my husband's Focus. It is tilted a little to far toward the back seat (while rear facing) because the seats hit it. Is it ok this way? or should I move it to the passenger side with the passenger seat all the way forward? It is tight and it isnt going anywhere, my dd is just sitting almost straight up and down.

I didnt realize the difference until I installed in in my parents car correctly. My dh has been driving around with it this way for almost 6 months. I really hope this isnt hazardous.

How old is she?

A 45 degree angle is only needed for newborns to about 4 months old, after that, as long as the baby has good head control, they can be as upright as 30 degrees (from vertical), most toddlers and preschoolers that ride rear facing are at about 30 degrees.

If you need more room, of course you can try either the center or the outboard passengers side, center often gives the most room because of the way the front seats are.

Dont mean to Hijack...

Gypsy, how would one make the seat more upright? DS is RF and it seems to lean back a lil too far for him to see well.

Place the carseat on the vehicle seat about an inch from the vehicle seat bight (where the back meets the seat), then put weight on the seat ONLY by where his feet would be, and tighten it.

That is the thing... my husbands focus is so small inside. the space between the two front seats isnt wide enough for the car seat to fit between. Unless they are both pushed up to the front and completely vertical, the car seat rests on them. She looks so uncomfortable and if she falls asleep, her head falls the whole way over.

Thanks... I will check to see if it is 30 degrees. if it is, I will leave it, but if not, I will put her behind the passenger seat.
