I always said the gardisil one was bullshit. not only dangerous to your health but insanely expensive and badly pushed by drug companys and drs alike. teaching safe sex education is 100x cheaper and without the vaccine risks.

I'm so glad I have resisted the pressure to get my two oldest girls this vax.

How scary. I know a doctor who loves to prescribe that crap a lot. I told one of her patients, who happens to be my friend's daughter that the vaccine is not that great but they wouldn't listen.

My BIL was mad that his mother (My MIL) and child's mother got his dd Gardisil when she was 11 (or some other young age). They did this without consulting him at all.

I'm not for it and am sure I'll be having a fight with MIL about it, but, oh well.

JD, if I were your bil, I'd be very pissed as well.

So not surprising. Our Chiropractor had a report about Gardisil and had told us that the initial "tests" that they did were inaccurate because they didn't test a large group and didn't follow them for a long time. When they did expand watch over more girls and over a longer period they found a lot of them were having problems and/or died.

If the mother had custody, she didn't actually need to have his consent or even consult him about it. Sad but true. He may want to look into changing any custody agreement to where he has input on non emergency medical decisions.

I didn't read her post as their being separated or divorced. I'm married, but my husband and I still discuss such issues instead of one of us making the decision alone. (He usually defers to me anyway since I'm the one who does the research.) I'm sure there are other married couples where that isn't the case, though.

They were never married and are separated. They have joint legal custody, which means that they jointly make the major decisions in a child's life - schooling, religion, elective medical procedures, etc.

I would consider this an elective medical procedure. I'd consider delayed vaxing or no vaxing to fall within this category as well. I wouldn't consider getting the "mandatory" vaxes to be elective, unless something was discussed prior about one parent not wanting them done for whatever reason.

My ds had the bad rotovirus vaccine not too long before it was recalled, he had lots of stomach issues, but nothing that could be blamed on the vaccine, as far as we know.

We don't do any vaccines right now, but if we did I would absolutely not give my child any new vaccine again, unless it were an immediate life and death emergency aliens invading sort of scenario.

I have lots of issues with the Gardasil though, the drug cos lobbyists actually had it mandated by state law, then the churches freaked all the hell out so the lawmakers went back and added an opt out for the gardasil.
My dr is a CC, so she's never even mentioned it to us.

Same here. Jacob had the vax two days before it was pulled off the market. He's had a lot of stomach issues.
