had my VBA2C!!! I was at home until pushing. Everytime the babe would go behind my pubic bone, there were decels in the heartrate. There was a lot of meconium every time my water would gush out. So after trying many positions, we transferred to the hospital hoping to be able to use the vacuum because the head was so low.
By the time we got to the hospital, the babe could be seen. We told them that but I don't think they believed us. They eventually got us into a room and checked me and the nurse was like WHOA! So they got everything together quickly and the doc came in and got ready. I couldn't help pushing, so I kept it up.
In between pushes, I told them my wishes for the birth. I wanted the squat bar. "No problem" I wanted dad to announce the gender. "no problem" I wanted the babe right to my chest. "absolutely" I wanted the newborn procedures delayed and done on my chest in any case. "Of Course!" They were totally fine with everything I wanted.
So I pushed and pushed. Market, who was my doula also, had me reach down and feel the baby's head halfway out at one point and I was shocked! I have the funniest picture of that moment. lol
So after the most intense feeling ever (that ring of fire is no joke!!!) the babe's head was out. Another push and the body started to emerge. Then I felt this slippery feeling and out the baby came! Right to my chest. :)
My dh announced the sex and I started crying.
By the way. It is another BOY!!!!!!!!
Ian Andrew 8lbs. 11 oz. with his hand by his head. His chest measured bigger even than his head! He pooped a tooooon of meconium while I was in labor and right before he emerged. I mean ounces. Probably half a lb. No joke! So he probably weighed more.
By the way. My first cs (when they told me he was too big for me) was 8 lbs 13 oz. ;)
It was seriously the best hospital birth I could ever imagine! I absolutely adored the doc and the nurse. They were totally supportive and wonderful.
I'll have pic up later. And a full birth story. But I have a third degree tear, so I can't sit in front of the computer much longer. :D

I can't remember if you live near me, if so, did you deliver at WAMC? I am curious how they handle VBACs.
I'm so excited for you that you got to experience a different kind of birth, I bet you want to do it again now and see how it goes! Ok, maybe you're not thinking that way quite yet :)

Yeah for Roo! Wanna hear something cool too? I was there! OKay, not there, but thanks to modern technology I felt like it! I talked to her on the pone during early labor, and Market texted me updates the whole time. I wasn't going to sleep till I got news about a VBAC!!!
COngrats, Roo. I'm so proud of you. No post a stinkin' picture already!

Thank you for all the well wishes everyone! I am totally over the moon. The recovery is quite a bit more painful than I really expected, but I guess I am only 2 days out. Hopefully that will get better soon. Any advice?
Here are just a couple of pictures:
The Funny Picture: (I had just reached down to feel the head halfway out. I just realized that I really was going to birth this baby.)

Oh, those pictures are priceless!! I love the look on your face in the first and second ones. The best I have is a picture of me pushing, and I just look constipated. LOL.
As far as recovery goes, cold witch hazel pads worked wonders for me. I would spritz witch hazel on a regular pad, and put it in the freezer for a while. It felt awesome. I used those for hemorrhoids as well. Ibuprofen helped, too.
Congratulations! He's beautiful!

Congrats! Great pictures.
I second witch hazel. I loves "sitz baths" too. I got this bowl (for lack of a better word) from the hospital that can be placed on the toilet. You fill it with warm water and then you sit your tush in it. Ahhhhhhh.
See here for a pic - http://www.themotiongroup.com/resource/products/Images/4-1.jpg. You can add witch hazel to it, or calendula and/or some sea salt.

Aw. You look beautiful, and your baby is just precious.
My recovery was helped a lot by dermaplast (I think that's the name). That is - if it's the tear you're referring to. Otherwise Ibuprofen was my friend.
