My daughter is 14 months old and still wakes up frequently at night, wanting to nurse. She will not take a pacifier and is using me as one instead. Any suggestions on what to do? She gets very upset and sometimes screams if I do not give her the boob. She is well fed and nurses quite awhile before bedtime.

Sounds exactly like my little nurser. Even at 20mo my DD still wakes 3-4 times a night to nurse and if I say no she screams. Its just easier to nurse her.
My best advice is just to hang in there. At 14mo. my DD was still waking at least 5 times a night and as time went on and her teeth came in she got much better. On a good night she will only wake to nurse 2 times, some nights are worse then others, but I've learned to just push through and know that in time they really will get better on their own.
hang in there momma!

I also might advise to hang in there mama!! My DD is 23 months and still loves her middle of the night bfing time with me:) For me, it's easier to give her what she needs so that we both get a good night's rest.

Mine nursed at night a lot between 1 and 2 years. I think it's because of teething and separation anxiety. It gets better. Hang in there.

My son is about to turn 1 and he still gets up 3-4 times a night, more frequently if his teeth have been bothering him. I actually just found this forum to learn more about what he's been going through with this frequent night waking!

My daughter is about to turn one and she wakes up at night to nurse. I have weaned tried to wean her and am down to only one feeding in the middle of the night. My problem is that her crib is in our room and we desperately want her to sleep by herself. She wakes up to nurse and won't go back to sleep in her crib. We don't have another room to put her in. What do we do?? We need sleep!!
