This isn't a questions about pumping as much is it is about what work schedule would be best for my son. I will be BFing no matter what!

My work wants to switch everyone in the office, including me, to 4 10 hr day schedule. I would work Monday thru Thursday 7 - 5:30 and then the following week work Tuesday thru Friday 7 - 5:30. This way every other weekend I would have four days off. Right now I work Monday thru Friday 8 - 4:30. What schedule do you think would be best for a baby? working 7 - 5:30 means I would have to leave the house at 6:45 and I would get home about 5:45. I live very close to work and so does my sitter. I am really worried that I won't have time to bond with my baby during the week, but I would get four days in a row with him every other weekend. I am just trying to make a list of pros and cons to both schedules. I might not really have a choice though. I have to work and my job is great!

I'm away from baby for just about that amount of time (giving how long it takes me to get to work after dropping baby off) and I really haven't had a problem. I think either schedule will work. With the four day week schedule I would focus on the fact that you get a whole extra day with your baby for just a few hour difference the rest of the week. I know it is so hard being a working mom but you'll do fine momma! Best of luck.

I work the 9/80 schedule which is 9 hours a day and get every other Friday off. Its really hard to do it because I'm gone for soo long but I do enjoy having that extra day with my baby. However, I can't imagine staying another hour at work, I would probably go crazy especially because I'm in a cubicle all day. but then again working 5 days a week doesn't sound that pretty either. But at least the good thing is that you live close to your job.
