I just realized that that last time DD nursed was last Wed morning. I really really hope this means she's done. I am so ready to move on. I nursed both of my babies for just over 2yrs each and I can't imagine having done it any other way, but I'm excited about not being a "nursing mom" anymore. I'm excited to wear whatever I want at night without worrying about boobie access. I've enjoyed wearing clothes without access for a while now as DD stopped day nursing a while back. I'm ready. I'm at peace. I'm proud. Ok, and I'm going to miss my "baby" girl a little, but I am so proud of my "big" girl who also decided to potty train 2wks ago, and sleeps through the night more and more often now in her own bed.

It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks with her development. She also got two more bottom teeth, so only 2 top molars to go. I feel like I'm entering a whole new phase of life with two kids instead of a kid and a baby.

All I can say is Wow, what a ride!

And Bama5, if you happen to read this thank you again. I would never have this peace without your help!

Congrats! Also, just a heads up, my oldest actually skipped weeks before he completely weaned! Of course, you can encorage her to be done if you want! I was surprised that not nursing for a week didn't mean weaned with DS1 though.

Kholby, I was afraid of that. I'm really hoping she doesn't go back and I plan to encourage her to be done, but if she starts to melt down, I'll certainly give in.

How old is she? Mine is 30 months and shows no signs of stopping :::sigh::: I am so tired of it!

She's 27months and she's never been a big nurser. I was getting pretty tired of some of her lengthy bedtime nursings so I put a time limit on her. She didn't really get to upset about it, but after reaching the end of it a couple of times, she huffed, rolled over and didn't nurse again. I think she decided if she couldn't have it like she wanted it, she just wouldn't have it at all (she might have gotten that little stubborn streak from me).

She was also already down to one side because she bit the snot out of the left one and after it was too sore to nurse for a couple of days, I just cut it out of the loop completely. Can you tell, I've been gently working towards this end? I wish I loved nursing so much that I wanted to do it until the day she was done, but well, I was waaay done already.

Congrats. Two plus years is great. My ds1 weaned around that age also.

Yes, over two is an incredible accomplishment! The WHO now recommends until two and some research suggests that weaning beforehand leaves baby more susceptible to illness.

That's awesome!

I feel ya'. DS is 26 months old, and still nursing to sleep & occasionally in the morning. I can relate to the elation of being done coupled with the sorrow of passing that phase of childhood.
