My supply can't keep up with my two nurslings right now. DD, age 3, has an oral temp of 102.5 - which is equivalent of 103.5 rectally or more, since she's not perfect at keeping the thermometer in. It is responding to ibuprofin. But I feel I need to nurse her as much as she wants since she's sick and not eating or drinking otherwise. DS2, ebf and 6 months old, may be fighting a virus or it could just be teething, but he's getting frustrated at having a little less than normal. Then there's me, my temp is up to 102 and I dont' feel like eating anything. I am drinking, but it's hard to keep up with this fever. (I'm not taking meds since I don't feel super sick yet). So I'm worried about my supply slipping.

Can I take fenugreek to get my supply up? I've taken it before and it worked wonders. It starts to work in only about 8 hours for me. Then I would have enough milk for both my sick DD and my possibly getting sick DS2.

No outside knowledge, Kohlby, but everything I googled indicated that fenugreek my help reduce fever.

I'm no expert on fenugreek, but I can't fathom reason why the two would be contraindicated. Consider eating oatmeal, too.

Hope you're both feeling better soon--any other symtpoms?

I'm not hungry so the idea of oatmeal isn't a pleasant one! I'm achy and feverish but otherwise okay. I took an ibuprofin and my fever doesn't seem to be responding to it. I'll try the fenugreek then. I couldn't find much info myself which is why I asked here - I figured someone at some point likely has tried it with a fever!
