I was elated the day I hung my horns up, so you are not alone!
I don't look forward to pumping again when we add to our family, but will be dusting the horns off and pumping like a crazy fool again

I've been pumping for 21 and a half months. Don't ask me how I've done it. At least I'm down to once a day now. However, I know that DD still gets all the benefits from it so thats what gives me the push to keep going.

Funny because I just mentioned to my husband this morning that when I finished pumping I was going to burn the pump and throw it down the cliff since we live on a hill. But like other people mentioned I just keep doing if for my little one. Time flies anyway :o)

I enjoyed nursing MUCH more after the 1 year mark when I quit pumping. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders.

DS2 will turn 1 next week, and i'll be hanging up the horns !!! Yay, I'll get my body back (at least at work) Tralalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaa!
No more lugging the stuff around, freezing in those little baggies, no more milk stains on my desk.
No more planning around pumping times or stressing about them.
I can't wait !

My girls will be 1 next month. I always said that I would stop when they are a year old, but now I've been thinking that I should try to get them through the winter months.
I hate lugging the stuff around and planning/stressing about pumping times too. I was just thinking the other day about the weird/gross places I've had to pump...in the back seat of the car a trillion times, in the bathroom stall of a convention center where my job was hosting a huge job fair (people kept coming in wondering about the weird noise and why someone was in the big stall for so long), in the employee lounge of a day spa (my sister threw herself a spa day birthday party), in the emergency room (my mother was waiting to be admitted), in the Intensive Care Unit's storage closet and conference room (my mother had surgery and we were waiting for her to go to recovery)...there are other places, can't think of them right now...I certainly have learned to get over being shy and just ask when I need a place to pump.
I will be overjoyed when I don't have to do it anymore.

I HATE IT! My son is only 4 1/2 months old and I am already tired of pumping. I am stiking in there for at least a year and then hopefully can just give him food during the day and nurse him in the mornings and evenings for the comfort factor. I do LOVE nursing but i HATE pumping! I think the devil invented breastpumps.

Part of your post was interesting...the bolded part stuck out to me. Bfing after a year doesn't decrease the value of the milk that you are making. The milk is there as long as you continue to bf.
What I've found out after the one year mark of bfing...my toddler wanted to bf when she wanted to. Now that she's 25 months and still a happy nursling, she continues to nurse on demand. For us, it's much easier to let her have access when it's possible to do so:)

I pumped for 23 months. I hung up my pump about a month prior to DD turning two at the beginning of August.
Was it a chore sometimes? Yes but the benefits of her having my milk at daycare with her meals was much more comforting to me. Did I ever hate pumping? No, not one bit.

Hi there,
My baby is 8 months old. I love nursing her. However I am only able to do so in the morning before I go to work and when I return. As my work requires me to run around alot to meet clients, very reluctantly, my pumping sessions are reduced to once a day. It is getting quite depressing and tiring to manage the pumping schedule and witnessing a decreasing supply. I really want to cross the 1 year mark with her. How do all of you do it - keeping the supply up, creatively managing the pumping schedule and working at the same time? Thank you so much for helping me out.
Another question: I use an Advent Electric Single Pump. Anyone knows if there is a car adaptor that I can attach the pump's electrical wire to it?

Is there any way to invest in a double electric pump? This is the fastest way to pump both breasts, most mothers can accomplish one pumping session in 15-20 minutes - would that allow you to pump more than once a day at work? Also, some mothers will pump at home either before work or at night after baby has fallen asleep for the night if they need to.
May I suggest creating a new thread with your specific concerns to get more eyes on as well?
I'm there with all of you! I HATE pumping, but continue doing it to provide my DD with the best! I have my own office (good thing) but do pump 3x's while at work. I'd much rather nurse than pump! I am so happy when Friday evening rolls around, because I don't have to pump for the next 2 days....yay!! I have a 1yr goal to breastfeed... so far I've made it to 3 and 6 months....and just taking 1 day at a time!!

I'm also am incredibly sick of pumping. Right now my body is pumping exactly the same amount my almost 6 month old is drinking...but what is the most exhausting thing is the panic in my daycare and husbands voice constantly at the fear of running out of bmilk...this in turn stresses me out. Ahhh!! Everyday when I pick up my son or come home from work there is the dreaded check to see if I pumped the same amount he ate.
