Remind me what causes it, what to do for it, and how long it lasts.
Christina will be 6 weeks old tomorrow, and as of yesterday her whole little face is broken out. The day before it was perfectly clear.

Off the top of my head guess but I think it is your hormones that cause or at least contribute...as far as I know there is nothing you can do. Bummer, but it will clear.

I've always heard it is your hormones that were passed to the baby during pregnancy. If thats true I don't understand why it wouldn't show up for 6 weeks. I don't know of anything you can do to help it clear up. Micah's baby acne went away between 2 and 3 months.

At six weeks I'd guess it was contact dermatitis. Try wiping her face off with a warm wet washcloth- no soap or lotion or anything- and see if it clears up.

Generally hormones cause it and time clears it. Don't pick it or put any treatments on. I say this as the books say, but DD's got really really bad and when I got off soy and dairy (like I'd done for DS) it cleared up very fast. When I'd slip up, she'd start getting bumpy again. I can't remember when it started, but it was lasting longer than I thought it should.

Oh, my poor daughter had it so bad, and it came on almost all at once. First her chin, then her left cheek, then the right then the forhead. It continued to grow for about a week, stayed steady for a 1-2, then within 2 days it cleared up and was gone!

Patience, thats all you can do for it.

I will never forget the day I had DD out at the store and a lady saw enough to know I had a very young baby and walked over. She said, "Oh (still smiling) what (looks in, face drops)....pretty....hair she has (walks away quickly)! It was like I had a little Quasimoto all snuggled up. I knew she was beautiful, but it was tough for others to see it.

Put breast milk on it! My dd had that around 4 weeks, she had it bad for a week or two. I read about the bm thing on the internet and realized she had it everywhere except her chin, where the milk was dripping when she ate. :)

I put milk on a couple of experimental spots and they vanished in like 4 hours. Then I put it over the rest of her face and she cleared up in 3 days. :)

I've heard of that working too, but it didn't work for me.
