Hi girls,
Been awhile, we have a newbie) born Aug 5th and named Rocco, he hates the car seat! I mean hates it. as soon as we put him in he screams his head off. I have to drive Ellie and my neice to school every morning and we are gone maybe 20 minutes.....he screams the whole time!
What are some car tricks? He will be a month old tomorrow!
Help me I am starting to hate the mornings!!!!!!

I'm sorry. Jack was like this. Honestly nothing helped. For him it was the position of the seat. Once he could face forward he was fine. Prior to that, me in the backseat, toys, music, you name it - nothing helped at all. He cried bloody murder every time he was in the car starting from the trip home from the hospital.
Do you have a neighbor or someone who could sit with the baby while you take your dd to school? My thing was to eliminate car trips as much as I possibly could.

Dd was like that at that age- and my nephew went through a bout of it. White noise seemed to help immensely.
We had a little white noise machine that we would play in the car when she would start to fuss.Sis has one of those heartbeat bear things..and in a pinch sometimes rolling the windows helps.
..but even that didn't/doesnt always work :( . I hope you figure something out.

Noise might help. I played the soundtrack from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" once (it was all I had in the car) and strangely, it calmed my car crier down.

My son was also this way. As jacksmommy mentioned, it was the position of the seat. He could not see me, he could not see what was going on, he would get scared. I did a lot of reassuring with on arm twisted back, I talked to him. As he got older he screamed less, but still hated it.
It will likely improve as he gets older. Hopefully you can talk him down. Good luck!

My son was like this. We had the infant seat that was also a carrier. I always brought it into the house and when I had to put my son in it, I'd gently swing him back and forth in the seat and it calmed him right down. It should get better when he gets a little older and can be entertained with some toys either hanging in the windows or from the seat.
*** side note off topic*** Stillsingingmom, I loved Buffy too, great show.

Seriously great show. I loved the "musical" episode; so hilarious and witty. I love the "She's not even have the girl she- Ow!" line. My kids love it, too.

Congrats darling!!
DS always hated the carseat to. For a loooong time. We did have 1 song on 1 cd that he liked and I had to punch that song over and over and over. I can tell you by memory that the song lasted 54 seconds. So every 54 seconds I was punching the playback button. We did try covering the windows with a blankie, but it did not help at all.
For DD we used the Prasie Baby CD's for everything and they always calmed her down, but it was a no go for DS.
