Hang in there momma! This is very normal newborn behavior. This is more than likely a growth spurt. Most babies go through growth spurts around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, etc. and many babies are fussy during growth spurts. The way a baby deals with a growth spurt is to nurse all.the.time. Because breastmilk is based on supply and demand this is the only way your breast will know to make more milk to satisfy babies needs. Giving into a bottle won't necessarily make things easier.
I suggest trying to nurse while lying down so that you can rest or possibly sleep while baby is nursing. I still do this with my 21mo. old who nurses several times a night. This will pass!

ITA with Whitness...the early days of bfing a newborn are hard, well with my second child it was hard.
Please hang in there and do what you can to nurse, nurse, nurse, if that is what the baby needs.
Your milk has all the nutrients your baby needs...you do not need to wait "x" amount of time until your breasts refill with milk since the last feed. There is always milk available for the baby once baby suckles.
Hang in there!

Newborns nurse for nourishment and comfort. As long he is gaining weight that satisfies your pediatrician and having lots of wet diapers he is doing great. Nursing became much easier for me around 12 weeks.
Keep it up! You will be so glad that you did!

Usually a growth spurt only lasts for a few days. Hang in there. Drink plenty of water, eat some extra food (I highly recommend eating a doughnut or two, the extra fat helps), and nurse, nurse, nurse.
The more you nurse, the more milk you will have. A baby who has been nursing happily for seven weeks has proved that you can make plenty of milk- he just wants more now, and this is how he will get it.

Every mom knows how frustrating it can be to feed all day long. It is normal. If you are still worried about your baby getting enough nutrients have him weighed once a week to make sure he is putting on the proper weight.
As for the time spent feeding, try to enjoy it. It wont be long before he'll be eating solid foods and running around all day. Put on a movie, music, read a book or just soak up the moments with your son.
All the best!
