I have a 7 week old son and I have been nursing him every 3hours (pumping while at work every 3-4 hours), I only get 3-4 ounces at each pump. Is this normal or should I be getting more?

a breastfed baby on average doesn't increase the # of ounces they need exponentially like a baby on formula does.
the average is 25 ounces a day if he nurses every 3 hours mostly around the clock, that is ust over 3 ounces per feeding.

3-4oz each time you pump sounds great to me! That is about the amount I would pump each time (I pumped 3x's per day while at work) taking home around 12-15oz. Baby usually only drank 12oz a day. Amy is right that breastfed babies do not increase the # of oz as they grow. My daughter drank the same amount until she slowly started increasing her solids and breastmilk wasn't needed as much any more.
