sore nipples and teeth

I am in need of some advice. I have a 17-month-old with a full set of teeth, and my nipples quite honestly feel like they have been through a grinder sometimes. I try to be careful with his latch, but during the night when I have to get up with him, I end up falling asleep in the rocker while he is nursing. By the time I wake up, he has slipped into a sloppy latch and by morning I am sporting a new set of milk blisters that eventually pop and turn into very sensitive areas. I never had this problem with my second son. I am determined to let ds self wean at his own pace, but this is really making it tough when I have to bite back a yelp when he latches on.

Oh yeah, I also figured out that trying to nurse with a broken hand in a cast is not the easiest thing in the world!
