Guys... I'm teething...

I never thought I'd get new teeth at almost 30. Okay, I'm almost 29 and a half, but isn't this kinda late? I didn't think I'd be getting wisdom teeth at all at this point! But, now I have a tooth nub. :(

Should I be worried? How likely is this to not come in straight and need intervention?

Hmmm, I might get it checked out. Some people don't get wisdom teeth at all, like my sister who wasn't born with them.

I would get it checked out, just in case it is going to displace your other teeth or in case the bump is a infection in the gum.

The gum has already separated and there is the actual tip of a tooth there. So at least I know it's not an infection. There is some good news. :)

I'd probably leave well enough alone unless they were screwing up my other teeth or I just wanted them out. Most (perhaps all) dentists are going to say they need to come out just because they're wisdom teeth. I have to think that they had a purpose just like tonsils and anything else and shouldn't be removed unless there's a true problem.

I agree with Judy. If it's coming in and your other teeth aren't twisting into some hideous gnarled mess, I'd leave it alone. DH still has his, but they just shift around sometimes. They've never actually broken the skin. I guess you have proven your wisdom more than he has.
