The kids love the books by Eric Carle. The illustrations are so bright and whimsical, I sat staring at them trying to figure out how they were done. Then I googled it. Dude will just tell you how he did it, and Eric Carle even made videos and picture tutorials of exactly how to do his pictures , so you can try it yourself.

Isn't this neat?

We are prepping to do this, I am really excited about seeing the final product! I think we could spend a few weeks on this. I want to do a couple of small pieces, then I want to do a really big piece that we can frame hang on the wall.

Memories! Every spring my kindergarten class would do a E.C. unit and we'd finish the week by creating a huge (4-5' wing span) butterfly using his collage method and suspend it from the ceiling.

The kids loved it.

Stuff like that is among the many reasons I'm leaning heavily towards homeschooling.
