Hi. My Daughter Is 2 Weeks Old, And I Am Trying To Build Up A Frozen Storage Of Milk To Prepare For When I Go Back To Work In 2 Weeks. I Have The Lansinoh Double Electric Pump & I've Read Double Pumping Is Supposed To Cut Time In Half, But For Me It's Exactly The Opposite. When I Pump Both Breasts At The Same Time, The Milk Comes So Slow And After Aabout 10 Minutes Stops At Less Then Half Oz. Until I Switch Back To Just Pumping One Breast, Then It Returns To Normal Flow. Am I Doing Something Wrong??? Any Help Or Suggestions Please!! Thanks

No, you aren't doing anything wrong. First your baby is very young and little newborns have little tiny tummies and therefore don't need a whole lot of milk in the beginning. Plus it takes time to build your supply. I'm not surprised at all that you are only getting 1/2oz when you pump especially with baby being so young and if you are exclusively nursing. You might pick one time every day and pump at that same time. Normally, the morning hours are the best time to pump since milk production is at its highest. You could pump one side while nursing the other side. You could also pump the side baby doesn't nurse on through the day. However, you really only need to pump enough milk for the first day you will be away and maybe a bit extra. After that you'll be pumping what he needs for the next day, during work hours.

I am currently doing a giveaway on my blog for a Hygeia Enjoye breastpump. This is such an amazing pump I have a review with it so you can read more about it. This pump does have a sound feature which allows you to record your infants cry or sound. This does help me with my let down. Here is the link to the giveaway. http://www.familyliciousreviews.blog...-giveaway.html
