I've been away from the computer for a week and a half. I tried getting to the site, but it says it's under construction. Is there a different link?

I was wondering since I saw it discussed, is La Sobremesa mostly for people from IHMMB or would bf.comers be welcome too? I realize that anyone who wants to register can just register. I am more curious about how the members would take it.

I can't imagine anyone would mind. I've seen a lot of newcomers-- some being people who apparently lurked forever from way back when on bfdc. There's no secret handshake or interview process or anything.

I've seen a few bf.commers, and it feels more like a big ole family reunion, seeing folks who you haven't posted with in a while.

Judy, I don't know particular circumstances, but I hope things pick up for you soon. Since the earlier split, several people have asked about you and I'm sure a lot of people would be really glad to see you.

MrsKitty, sorry to ask...what is IHMMB?

IHMMB was I hate my message board

posters left bf.com in masse over the map issue--where poster's IP address placed them on a map so everyone could see where you were located. many did not like being placed on a map without their permission. some left over other reasons besides that, but that was the impetus.

They converged on the IHMMB message boards (with permission of it's owner)
but those message boards were closed last Wednesday(by the owner),
so they all went to La sobremesa(sp?) a new message board created for this instance.
