Does anyone else do this? Our school is doing this for the first time. I'm finally a class mom after trying for 6yrs, so we are decorating my trunk. Our theme is a fall harvest, so I need some ideas for decorating. I'm going to get a few small bales of hay, some gourdes, pumpkins and the indian corn, but after that, I have no idea. I stink at decorating, it's definitely not my strong point LOL

A scarecrow would work with your theme. My mom lives in a neighborhood that all the houses are situated on six acre lots, so they do trunk or treat on Halloween. I do not think she decorates the car, though, since her house sits close enough to the road (she decorates the house).

Our school/church is doing one. We're attaching a chili/hot dog dinner to it. Don't ever say chili to me again, because I'm sick to death of organizing it. On the bright side, if you need to know how to make Chili for 300, I'm your girl.

You are funny! We pretty much have things covered. The other class mom is a trip. So far I have leaves, a couple of bales of hay and I'm going to get some pumpkins (probably fake). The PTO is expecting over 500 kids!!!

Our church has done them in the past. I was the lame one with out a decorated trunk but, we made up for it by giving out bags of cereal.
We did it for two years and then quit because we had too many complaints from the older people in our area that weren't up for sitting out in the cold for two hours and were very sad that no trick or treaters came to their houses.

Our church does it and all the themes are biblical so I have no idea.

For some reason it creeps me out. Even though it shouldn't. It does.
(PS. There is a church in the next town over doing this, but I haven't experienced it)

What, you disagree with luring children into trunks with the promise of candy?
We were just talking about trick or treat safety with cub scouts and going up to a vehicle for the promise of candy is one of the no-no's so I always think of that when I hear of trunk or treats.

We do it Every year! I have more fun decorating the trunk of our Suburban then I do decorating the Christmas Tree! We have a convertor to plug in all the lights, Play kid scarry music and sounds and give out glo sticks. We have a Pumpkin patch theme with bears every year. Lets see if I have a Pic of past hallowens....
