And why?

cancer. Because I have seen it tear down many strong people, break many hearts and devastate families.

Some may not consider this a disease, but for me, it would be obesity. I think its the cause of many, many health problems and if that was cured, it would take care of many other diseases.

Mental health disorders. I know how difficult it is not only for the person who is suffering from such a disorder, but for the entire family as well.

Asthma, my 2 younger kids have it and it kills me to watch them struggle to breath.

Food allergies aren't a disease, but it's what I would find a cure for.

It's what most affects my children and myself right now.

If they had some other disease or condition, I'd likely choose that.

Addictions. While it isn't considered a disease, I believe finding a cure for how to successfully break addictions in people would be wonderful. There are a lot of things that can fall under addiction: Food, alcohol, drugs, ect.

You'd prevent a lot of diseases in the process of curing this.

It is a disease. I believe it would fall under mental health though, what Judy picked. Therefore I choose mental health problems as well.

I'd put it under mental health disorders as well.

That was my thought. Take away obesity and lots of "real" diseases would go away.

I think I can also go with mental illness as that could arguably encompass some of what causes obesity.

There are a lot of people who actually don't count addictions as a disease. That being said, I watched my dad deal with the mental part better than how his body was addicted to the drugs & alcohol. So, while mental health problems are included, it wouldn't be my focus. IF I could cure mental health in the process then I'd be really happy. ;)

Also, I really really believe that people who have food addictions could very well be addicted to what they put into food.

This may be look on as funny but it is the first thing that came to mind when I read the OP.
Hate. I, personally think it is a disease.

I agree with Crabbie.

Cancer, hands down.

CF. I'd like my sister to be around to watch her daughter grow up into a woman. And, selfishly, I want to sit on a porch and fuss at her when we're in our 90s.

For me it is a toss up between stupidity and liberalism. I suppose an end to either would end them both.

There is a cure for obesity. Moving around and putting less food in your mouth. :p

I would cure AIDS.

Cancer. Because it gets so very many people and is so terrible to see play out in front of your face.

Mine is a toss-up between mental illness and cancer. I agree that many diseases could be prevented if mental illness was not an issue. But I also want cancer to be gone because it takes many, many lives way too early!

Yes, because as everyone`knows, obesity is only about moderation and laziness

Just as homosexuality and drug use is the cause of AIDS.

It's certainly not that simple in Africa.

I'd have to go with cancer, though I reserve the right to change my mind on that.

LOL. I think you're right. For some reason, I missed that she was responding to your sarcastic comment. I was thinking back to comments by those of us who said that curing addictions could prevent a lot of diseases.

I'd cure Kidney disease. My daughter has a non curable kidney disease. She will need a transplant eventually. It's a roller coaster when it comes to her health. She is immunosuppressed, so she can come down with alot of illness. The meds she is on will most likely affect her fertility when she is older. There are alot of kids suffering with what she has, they don't know what causes this and only know how to treat the symptoms. The damage done to the kidneys is permanent and irreversible.

I'd also cure cancer, aids and mental illness, all of which are dear to my heart.

Hey, if some good honest Americans are sure die from friendly fire too, that may just be the price we have to pay.
