WE MADE IT!!!! My girls turned 1 on October 14! Though sometimes I didn't know how we would make it, I pumped for them and they haven't had a drop of formula. YAY! As much as I despise pumping, I don't plan to stop yet. We'll see how it goes one day at a time.

I am so proud of myself, though no one around me gets really gets it. I know you guys do though. Thank you all so much for all of the support and kind words that you have offered since I started posting.

That is awesome, I also hated pumping, and could not pump enough with my first for my part time work needs. I caved and supplemented with formula a few bottles a week around 9-10 months.

I know how happy you are feeling, I was thrilled to get as far as I did with only breastmilk with my first dd.

The other 2 were luckier, and were nursed longer.

Whatever works ! Congrats again.

Congrats! Have you been exclusively pumping for an entire year? That is impressive!

Yes, Ms Kitty, I have been exclusively pumping.

I could never get the hang of nursing both of them at the same time or alternatively and one was much better than the other at staying latched on. When I did try to nurse them both for an entire 24 hour period, I felt like I had been hit by a mac truck and it basically required me to stay in bed or the couch all day. I also work full time, so when maternity leave was up I didn't really have much of a choice in the matter. So, I started pumping exclusively and we've never looked back.

I don't know anyone in my personal life or close to me who breastfeeds. Ironically, I am also a twin and my mother didn't breastfeed us. So, although she was supportive of me she didn't have much help to offer in the way of nursing multiples either. I really just fell into breastfeeding. At the beginning I just thought I would give it a try. The babies were born about 6 weeks early so we didn't have bottles and I had no idea about what formula to buy or anything....

To be honest, pumping around the clock for 1 YEAR really, really SUCKS, as you can well imagine. But I know that what I've given my girls is invaluable. That's what really kept me going.

I am going to try to post some pictures of them if I can figure out how within the next day or two.

Congrats! That is an amazing accomplishment!!! Lots of hard work, but that is one of the most special things you can do for them! Nobody else could do it for them.

I understand, my Luke was born 8 weeks early and other than adding calories to his breast milk, he never had more than a few ounces of formula. I pumped exclusively for 13 months for him. He could never latch on and was losing weight, so I made the decision to just keep pumping. It's hard, but it was the right thing to do for him. (I will say however, that my daughter nursed with no problems and it is soooo much easier...)

Again, GOOD FOR YOU MAMA!!

Another WOW! Congratulations!

I'm a donating Mama, only pumping twice a day and some days I wonder why I'm still doing it.. Then a Mom calls or emails me to tell me how much they appreciate the gift and how well their little ones are doing. It's enough to keep me going a while longer!

Your awesome Mama! Thanks for sharing such an accomplishment!
