I want to breastfeed my 6mos old until she's one but I won't be able to do so due to my decrease in milk. I was storing milk for her so that I could stop pumping in November but she went through all the stored milk and there isn't any way that I would be able to store up the amount of milk she finished. So I was wondering if there was some type of safe product I can use to produce more milk so that I can begin storing milk for her again.
I was told about fenugreek but I've heard that it isn't safe to use if nursing or breastfeeding.

Is there anything out there to help me produce the amount of milk that I was producing when I first started breastfeeding?

Thanks

Congratulations on getting this far. At six months you can start introducing solid foods and some of the feedings that were nursing or EBM would be substituted by the food. Therefore at this point you don't need to make as much milk as you were making when you first started breastfeeding. However at the same time the best way to increase your milk supply is to nurse her and be in a lot of skin to skin contact with her. Unless you are away from her for days at a time you also don't need to have a lot of milk stored up because when you are around her you should just nurse her.

Fenugreek along with other herbs has been used to increase milk supply and it is safe to use when nursing although there are some exceptions : http://www.breastfeeding.com/all_about/fenugreek/all_about_fenugreek_precautions.html
You can also try Mother's Milk Tea and try some other tips listed on this site http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/low-supply.html

Good luck
