Hi Marta. I have a question about starting solids. My daughter is 7 months. We are doing homemade whole grain cereal (rice and oat) and a few pureed fruits/veggies. She was very interested at first, but now, not really. She does not eat very much - maybe a tablespoon once a day. I just don't think she's hungry, which is fine for now. I won't worry until she's 8 or 9 months.
My main concern is in the timing of offering solids. I want to make sure I don't interfere with my milk supply and inadvertently wean early, but I also want to make sure she's hungry enough to experience new nutritious foods. Here's our typical nursing schedule for a day:
Wake up and Nurse - 6:30 or 7 am
Nurse for a Nap - around 8:30 am
Nurse for a Nap - around 12:30 pm
Late Afternoon Nurse - On demand - between 3:30 and 4:30 pm
Nurse before Bed - around 6:15 or 6:30 pm
Night Nursing - once, between 1:00 and 3:00 am
Of course, there are variations, and I would nurse more if my daughter requests, but this is what's typical. Can you suggest the best times of day to offer solids?

Hello! I posted a question earlier today during another Q/A session, but it seems there wasn't enough time to answer it... Should I repost it, or do you see it? It's called "night nursing"... Let me know if you can't get it and I'll repost it. Thanks!
