Hi, I am tandem nursing a 1 year old and 3 year old about 3 weeks ago I got a plugged duct on my right side which led to infection/mastitis ... the lump went down and I thought was gone then a week later it reappeared ... now here it is again ... smaller and not throbbing but there all the same ... is this something to be concerned with or so long as they are nursing it down will it work it's way out??? I have changed bras to a tank type shirt so nothing is restrictive and I've quit nursing laying down in bed thinking maybe that was restricting the milk flow on that side ... I've also started taking 3 lecithans a day. Does any of this make sense ???
Thanks so much !

Hello,

Is this the first time you've had plugged ducts? Mastitis does always start with a plugged duct. Try massaging from the nipple back into the plug. Massage your breasts gently several times every day. Think of your breasts being a bag of marbles and you are trying to move the marbles to different places.
