Hi, I am new here and I hope it is not presumptuous to make a new thread so soon. I am no longer breastfeeding, but I did bf all 4 of my kids and I strongly advocate breastfeeding in public. Target, apparently does not, despite what their corporate policy claims (http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/dpp/news/breast-feeding-incident-at-local-target)
This woman is on another message board I post on, and her story got me so angry I had to try to do something about it!

I set up a blog to tell the whole story: Motherhood Targeted (http://www.motherhoodtargeted.blogspot.com/)

It is so sad that people are so ignorant.

Edited to fix blog link.

it's a shame that breastfeeding to some is considered indecent in public or elsewhere. As I read through the comments a common one that stuckout was "I don't want to explain to my kids what that lady is doing with her boob hanging out!"

Geez.

Aside from the fact that most nursing mothers are discreet, maybe if those parents actually did the responsible thing and explained to their kids about breastfeefing, then the kids would be more comfortable with it when they become parents themselves and would encourage it for their children.

I'm speechless. I can't even fathom.

I think that every single one of us should go to our local Target stores and breastfeed our babies.
