Hi,
My son is 4 months old (I'm breastfeeding exclusively), and recently I've noticed he has small amount of blood in his stool. It happens very randomly- about once every other week or so. My peditrician thinks that it is a milk allergy, and wants me to remove dairy from my diet. I am not convinced that this is a milk allergy since it happens so randomly. If my son was truly allergic to milk/milk products- wouldn't he always have blood in his stool? Is there anything else that could cause blood to randomly appear?
He has had his stool tested a total of 6 times for blood. Out of those 6 times, only 2 have come back positive. Do you agree with my peditrician...is this a milk allergy? If so, why is blood only appearing in his stools once in awhile?
Thank you for help!!
