How long can I expect to have a lump ...

from an old plugged duct? It's been 2 1/2 months. Sometimes the lump is bigger, sometimes tiny. But it's always there. Do I need to have it checked out?

Absolutely have it checked. I would not call that normal.
Could be hormonal but it could be something else. They can do an ultrasound and a needle biopsy to be on the safe side.
