I was wondering...

After I eat something, how long does it take to "get into" my breast milk, and how long will it stay there. I apparently ate something today that is not agreeing with my 2 1/2 month old. Should I pump to clean it out of my system, and for how many feedings?

TIA!

It takes approximately 2 hours for foods to make it to milk. Give or take a bit.
But once something has irritated babies tummy, it can then take them 12-16 hours to calm.
I do not suggest pumping and dumping, I suggest continuing to feed but drink lots of water and eat foods you know will not upset baby. Go gentle for a day or two and consider keeping a food journal to isolate certain foods.
