I'm new here and am not sure if this is how to ask the questions or not, but here goes.......
Do our breasts release more milk when the baby is latched on versus when we pump?
My baby seems to get gassy a lot, is there something I can do to try to prevent it?

Nursing baby has a better ability to get more milk out of the breast that you would by pumping. When a baby nurses the milk that comes first is called foremilk and it is quite watery. Them comes hindmilk which is a bit more creamy as it contains higher amout of fat, which the baby needs to grow. The issues that you are having with gassy baby could be due to something that you ate, often it could be diary products or it also could be the foremilk and hindmilk imbalance. Here is a link that explains it a bit more http://www.llli.org/FAQ/foremilk.html
if it's diet related you can try eliminating for example diary from your diet (make sure to suplement your calcium and vit D) and see if that improves anything.
