I weaned my little girl this previous October (she's 2). I had her through a normal, vaginal birth. We are now adopting and I would like to try to breastfeed again. I still have a tiny amount of milk expressing from my breasts from my daughter. I have been trying to re-lactate for the past three months by taking Fenugreek (about 12 tabs daily), domperidone (80 mg daily) and drinking tons of water and pumping around the clock. I also tried to get my daughter to nurse again, but she's not interested. I haven't had any success increasing the milk that is there. I am only able to express 2 ounces a day at the most.

I have read about the protocols, and I am confused. Should I let what milk is there dry up and then start over again? Meaning take the birth control pill etc and then the domperidone and pumping again?

What I am doing now just doesn't seem to be working and I am running out of steam :( We expect to have our newest edition in April.

Thank you in advance!

Have you thought about adding Blessed Thistle pills? I was taking Fenugreek a couple months ago, and saw a little bit of increase in my milk, but not till I added Blessed Thistle is when I really noticed a huge increase in my milk.... My DD is 7 months, I have a full time job.... so I only nurse when I'm around (mornings, evenings & weekends).... I pump every 3.5hours while at work, and collect about 7-8 oz per pumping session.... at the beginning I was only pumping maybe 2.5-3oz...which was not enough for me. Give that a try.... you can find them at any Natural/Herbal stores.
