I'm new to this, I am the Grandma. How soon do you teach baby to go from breast feeding to bottle so you can go back to work or go away. My daughter says her baby won't take pacifiers or bottle. I am old school so I know things have changed. My new Granddaughter is only 2 weeks old at this point but I am afraid my daughter might be to afraid to be the boss. She will be getting ready to go back to work in about 4 weeks. Can anyone help me with this.

Is baby nursing well?
We generally recommend about 4 weeks for bottle learning provided baby is nursing well. At any sign of nursing problems, it's important to go back to just the breast for a few days to reestablish breastfeeding.
2 week olds still a little young to teach bottle feeding, give it a few more weeks grandma :)
Congratulations on the new grandbaby!

My breastfed baby would not take a paci (or bottle I assume, I did not bother to try) from me until around 4-5 months. He would take a paci and a bottle from my mom no problem. He really liked to suck so it was a necessity. At 6 months he was willing to drink a bottle with me in the house, but of course would expect to nurse also (so I would come home he may be sampling a bottle while we all ate lunch and then we would nurse).
Dad introduced a bottle at 5 weeks, I had to leave the house in order for baby to take it. My son had no problem switching from bottle to breast other than eventually refusing the bottle in anticipation of me coming home from work.
So, mom cannot introduce the bottle. You may have to try different nipple styles, I used the Medel slow flow orthodontics and they worked for us.
Good luck and congratulations!
