Nestle is buying Jenny Craig.
Nestle is responsible for the deaths of thousands of infants EVERY YEAR. Nestle doesn't care who they kill in the process of making money. How much can they possibly be making off of poor africans? One can of formula costs a month's paycheck, plus they need to buy safe water. They can't! So they water down the formula to make it last, w/ unsafe water no less.
In 3rd world countries breastfeeding is a matter of life or death! The death of innocent babies to innocent mothers who are LIED TO and swindled by formula reps! Formula reps who have impersonated doctors in the past. This goes beyond the WHO code, beyond ethics and morals. Nestle is killing children and robbing families!
BOYCOTT NESTLE, you might save a life.
How is Nestle forcing their milk on these mom's? Don't they have the choice to breastfeed if they want to? Just like any mom here...they can choose to breast or bottle feed....
I suppose that's easy to say as an educated, literate American. These people live in poverty and have no formal education. They see their family members die at the hands of rampant diseases. They see children drop dead daily. When somebody tells them that this can of formula is better for their babies, they snatch it up. They do whatever doctors tell them, they just want to do what's best. Anything to give their baby a better chance at life. These mothers are being lied to and robbed of their children. They don't have the information we have. What they have is Nestle promising a better product and offering samples. Hey, it was free let's try it! Suddenly that can didn't go as far as they thought and their milk is dried up with a baby refusing the breast. Suddenly they have to spend their life savings to buy the baby more formula to mix with dirty Nile river water and try to make it last just one more week. Suddenly their baby is sick as a dog with some horrible disease that he never would have gotten being breastfed. Suddenly this baby has diarhhea, malnutrition and dehydration. Suddenly this mother's child is DEAD. Dead from something 100% preventable just so Nestle could make 5 more dollars.
