I'm back.
I've been gone in disgrace because I haven't been to the gym since my gum surgery - 5 weeks ago.
I started back on Monday and was dreading it. Really dreading it, but I went anyway and it was a great workout. I left thinking - why was I dragging my feet? It felt just as good as it did when I started 6 weeks ago. I guess I'd forgotten. The key for me is going to be a consistent routine of working out. I think the momentum of working out on specific days at certain times will keep me in the habit of going.
Anyway, I'm back in the saddle. I've been going every other day and will continue that schedule through the holidays.
I kicked up my recumbent bike resistance a notch from level 2 to level 3 (out of a range of 1-20 levels) today and did fine - Oh and I added 1 minute to my workout :D going from 15 minutes on the bike to 16 minutes. It's progress! - albeit slow progress.
I haven't gained or lost. Still hanging in at 135 lbs. Which is honestly amazing given the amount of Halloween candy I consumed. Ugh.

Welcome back!
My butt needs to be kicked firmly into gear, and it helps to read your comments on how much consistency helps you. I'm guessing that I'll be able to stick with it once I start sticking with it, KWIM?
Good to see you here! :)

Missed ya, good to see your back on board. :) I haven't excersized in a week and today I went and got it done and I know what you mean about feeling good. Let's keep that up and keep that awesome feeling alive.

I am the exact same way about working out. A vacation or night out can really throw a wrench in my agenda. I don't know why, but I drag my feet too. Once I'm working out, I feel great, it's just getting there that's tough.
Good for you! Oh and seriously left over Halloween candy is the devil!

Up to 18 minutes on the bike at level 3. I think once I reach 20 minutes I'm going to do that for awhile and just up my level when I can. My total workout is taking about an hour right now and I really don't want that to be much longer than it already is.
I've upped my weight on the lat pulls, quad/hip flexion machine, and the back row machine. I feel ready to up the weight on the chest press, but the next weight is a 15 lb. jump - no, I'm not ready for that. So, I have to figure out plan B on working my chest - maybe a different machine or using dumbbells. I'll have to ask a trainer what to do there.
My pain is so much better after working out. I'm really seeing the correlation there and it's motivating me to get in to the gym.
TMI to follow... I'm warning you, turn back now!
DH and I haven't been as intimate as we'd like because doing so always leaves my back and hips very painful for several days (or longer). Well, I went to the gym yesterday (Sunday) and worked out. When I got home, we put DS down for a nap and jumped in the shower. :D
DH asked me later that night how I was feeling and I was able to say - fine. No better, but no worse for having had an awesome Nooner!
Yay!

Ah yes, yet another wonderful and fullfilling benefit of excersizing. I can commiserate. ;)
Good job on upping your workout and sticking with it. I'm glad you are getting some relieve.

Small update - I didn't keep exercising through the holidays. Big surpise <not>.
I gained 5 lbs. over the holidays. Yay.
So, I'm back at square one. 140 lbs.
I got a shuffle for Christmas. Since we've been home after traveling for the holidays I've been fixing lean meals. I'm about to go buy new tennis shoes today.
Tomorrow is a whole new day to commit.

Welcome back! Dh and I jumped back on the wagon the day after we got back from travelling for the holidays. Its been okay, but man do I miss those Christmas cookies and egg-nog lattes! I just keep telling myself to keep my eye on the goal and what I really want, which is really helping me to avoid the bad foods because I tell myself that I am really committed lol! I envy you being able to work out at the gym. I miss that!

The new shoes are great! I've never been professionally fitted before and was very surprised how much better The Right Shoe feels.
Tonight I fired up the indoor grill and made orange pepper chicken breasts, kabobs of yellow squash and zuccini rounds, and couscous with pinenuts and scallions. Delicious! DS even took a few bites of each (miracle of all miracles!).

I didn't hit the gym today, but I did walk while DS was in his speech therapy session. It's so gorgeous outside today it wasn't even a chore!
If I had to guess I would say I walked about a mile and a half. I walked briskly for 20 - 25 minutes.

Great job mama!
