Anyone out there have any experience with doing Weight Watchers(or any weight management program, for that matter) while breastfeeding? Know it sounds silly, since most breastfeeding moms dump weight like there's no tomorrow...problem is, I was overweight before we got knocked up, gained 42 lbs while preggo, and we want another baby, but I hurt so much from this weight that we need to slim down before another baby. I'm not sure whether to follow the points..in the sense that I'm under the impression that nursing mom's need more...I'm just not sure how much more. I know myself, and I tend to be better at losing weight if I have something a little more "real life" like weight watchers. Thanks for any input/advice....

Bf moms get extra points. i think it is 12 extra, IIRC.
If you go to a meeting they will give you a special WW while bf pamphlet. Just be sure to tell them at the getting started session

The Weight Watchers plan for nursing moms is very generous. It gives you an extra 10 points or so a day, which is a lot of food to eat. And yet somehow it does work.
Good luck.

I was just wondering how many of you are doing weight watchers. I am doing it and my weight loss has been slow. Not sure what the deal is. I normally lose pretty fast on it. I do EBF.

I just started this past Saturday. I found that i was eating less before i started the diet. So, now i am eating better ( better foods choices and less at night ). I better lose weight or im going freak out. I havent started any real exercise program yet though. The weight watcherss leader said to take it one week at a time. Get your diet under control and then focus on the exercise program. Good luck tyo everyone on WW!

I've never done weight watchers, but you should figure out about how many cals you are eating now and than go from there. Oh, and I think that's a myth of losing weight while bf'ing, cuz lord knows I didn't lose an ounce...lol. Good luck with everything! I know that weight watchers has worked for alot of people here and irl.
