I don't want to repeat, but if not can we post some low-calorie ideas for each meal? I just found a few on calorie-count.com for breakfast that I hadn't thought of. Some other helped me yesterday with an idea for cool whip (thanks!). I am finding that if I collect this and actually make a shopping list I have NO PROBLEM sticking to a diet. My problem is failing to plan !

On the old board we had one thread that everyone could add their recipes and tips to. I just added it here. Feel free to add any that you find you like!

Just saw it - thanks!!
I am hoping to find some easy stuff though - a lot of those look like a lot of work. My favorite recipes are the ones I have in my 5 ingredients or less cookbook - it is stuff most people already have in their cupboards - not really low cal though :(

A little late responding to this thread, but I thought I'd share with you some things I eat during the day. These aren't exactly meals, but it's basically what I eat breakfast, snacks, and lunch.

Yoplait light yogurt-100...these are soooo good and go really fast, try the blueberry and peach mmmmm
1 packet of instant oatmeal-130
1 can Progresso soup-200...most are 200 a can, french onion is only 100 per can and pretty good
1 slice Fat free cheese individual wrapped-30
6 slices of Oscar Mayer turkey-45
Motts Berry applesauce-50
1 bag of Dole light ceasar salad kit-100-200...can't remember exactly, but it's alot of salad and good
Banana-100-120
Granola Bar-120-170
2 eggs w/ 2 slices of low sodium bacon-140+70=210
Frozen entree's-220-320
2 cups of chex cereal and 1 cup of soy or 1% milk-200+100=300
1 slice of Beefsteak Light soft rye bread-40...they also have wheat and italian bread for only 40cals/slice
Boca/veggy burger patty-100
With sandwiches always sub mustard (spicy, yellow, honey) for mayo
Smart Balance Omega Buttery Spread Light-45 for 1 tbsp...Unlike the other smart balance spreads this once is actually soft and spreadable and low in cals compared to 1tbsp of real butter for 100 calories!

Thanks babycakes - other than the soy and rye bread, we eat a lot of the same things!

Eating healthy and fewer calories means that you need to make the calories that you do eat count. That means packing in fruits, veggies, lean meats and other protein, and good carbs into not a lot of food.

I don't personally mind food that takes longer too cook or has more than 5 ingredients. If I like the way it tastes and it's healthy, then I know I'm more likely to continue eating it.

I also don't cook much out of my pantry. I shop weekly for fresh foods and that's the bulk of what we eat. Processed boxed foods are not that great for you and are usually very high in sodium.

One of my favorite recipes from Weight Watchers. It's simple and quick and tastes heavenly.

Beef Orzo soup

Ingredients:
3/4 lb extra lean ground beef (95% fat free)
3 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup orzo
4 cups beef broth, or the equivalent water and bullion
1.5 tsp thyme
1 tsp rubbed sage
1 medium onion, chopped

Directions:
Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in a soup pot. When the onion is translucent and the beef is cooked, add the mushrooms, sage, and thyme, and cook until the mushrooms start to get smaller (liquid coming out) and the fragrance is amazing. Then add the beef broth, and bring to a boil. Add the orzo and boil until the orzo is cooked.

Makes 4 servings at 6 points each
