jogging strollers
do you use a jogging stroller? I'm trying to research the best one for me. I have 'great thoughts' about exercising with my baby as soon as the weather warms up enough for her.
which stroller do you use and why do you like it?
Anyone have any negatives to share about the one they use?
Thanks!

I use a little older version of this
http://www.juststrollers.com/strolle...07bluegray.cfm
Price was a HUGE factor for me. I purchased mine off of ebay for under $100 brand new. I love the smooth ride and safety features. LARGE storage compartment underneath. A place for my CD player/Ipod and water bottle. Safety strap so I can jog without it rolling away and hand brake. So far the only Negative I have aren't much. The seats recline perfect for newborns and infants. But my daughter complains it won't go up enough for her not to lay down but it's safer that way for her.

The best stroller for you is very individual. You can always spend more and get a "better" stroller. But if you don't need one with all the extra features, then it's wasted money. I love the Baby Jogger strollers. I have a Baby Jogger II single and a Baby Jogger Performance Double. However, the first cost me $200 and the second $400. I'm an avid runner and have even used the single during a half-marathon race. With the double, it was important to me that my rather large older child could fit in it - plus baby could start in it at a young age, which was only 6 weeks with that stroller. (Most joggers are 6 months). I had very specific needs - I had to be able to run with it - even races, on hard packed dirt or paved roads but no rough terrain, and it had to fit both my kids. If I took my stroller on more rough terrain, then I would have bought a BOB jogging stroller.
If you're looking for cheap and just something for walks and casual jogs, the In-Step 10K strollers aren't bad for the money.
If you decide to go with a used stroller, don't forget to check bike shops. I did find many used strollers on Craigslist and the local paper's classifies but they weren't ones that met my needs. Bike shops don't get many used jogging strollers in but they tend to get the much higher quality ones.
Here's a site with lots of info: http://www.joggingstroller.com/

I have a Babyjogger brand with huge 20" tires for actual jogging. It is very important to have big tires and a quality stroller if you plan to jog with one, or else you will be wasting energy on keeping it going in a straight line (mine effortlessly goes straight and I can push it easily with one hand while jogging).
Now for walking, which is all I did this last summer, I have this stroller: http://www.mylittlechild.com/Strolle...r_in_Blue.html and I LOVE it because it rear-faces. I loved being able to put my mp3 player on, take a nice long, fast walk around our house (on the side of the highway since we live in the country) and be able to talk to/see my DD. The ride for her is very smooth in this stroller. I tried jogging with it and it's not good for jogging, though (it's NOT a jogging stroller, so I wouldn't expect it to work) but for walking (fast walking) it was wonderful.

Since the link had a picture only forward facing, I wanted to post a picture to show you what it looks like rear facing, just in case you were interested:
Not the best pic, but it's all I had on my computer. The netting was just to keep out all the mosquitoes, which we had a TON of this year.

The BOB Revolution is the best for serious runners. My DH uses it to train for marathons with DD (who's 5 months tomorrow) & loves it! We both use it as a regular stroller for everyday stuff & it's particularly good on rough terrain - hiking trails, sandy beaches, cobblestones etc. It's extremely light & easy to push & turn - I can steer it literally with 1 finger! It's front wheel can swivel or be fixed, depending on what you need to use it for. Although it's expensive, it's the running stroller that all our "running" friends swear by.
I second the bike shop recommendation - we got ours for $60 less (new) at a local bike shop than anywhere online. Happy running!

Hello All.I have Hauck Tandem stroller for my twin babies. It is very well designed to carry both babies comfortably. It has some best features like lockable Swiveling front wheels, padded seats with adjustable recline, and a large shopping basket below the seats for storage convenience. If any of you guys want to see it please check my profile picture or else visit the following link. http://www.icoobaby.co.uk/hauck_baby...k/10110_p.html

Hmm, this has got me curious. I hate all of the strollers that I have, my stride is too long and I end up kicking the dang stroller with every step. It hurts. Are jogging stollers designed to not be kicked when running/jogging?

I also vote for the BOB - they are fantastic over all kinds of terrain when you aren't running (I haven't taken him trail running just yet as our trails are impossible without a stroller.) Not sure where you live but if it snows in the winter you'll love being able to take your little one out for walks and not worry about road salt destroying your spokes (they're plastic) and being able to plough through 6 inches of snow with ease (and kiddo keeps super warm with the weather shield).
Another reason i love the BOB is that you have the option of a swivelling front wheel so you can turn without raising the stroller, or locked straight ahead for running.
We bought ours new, and while the sticker price up front will make you choke, but it's a great investment. Around here they're hard to find used and when they're listed on kijiji or craigslist they sell pretty quickly for nearly what you would pay new. I figure when we sell it and get a dualie for kid #2 we'll have ended up paying less than we would have spent with the standard graco travel system that barely survives much walking through one kid! Totally worth the investment up front. Hubby says he wishes his car handled as well as our BOB.

Sorry, couldn't resist showing how well the BOB does in snow and how cute my kiddo is (not that I'm biased, of course).
