Default 1 hour glucose test

Well, I went on Wednesday for my 1 hour test. I have to do mine very early because of my history of GD with my other 2 pg. I know that I failed. I took my testing kit with me. 163! Yikes....Oh well. Looks like Thanksgiving is going to blow not getting to eat mashed potatoes and pecan pie! Waiting for official results from doctor next week.

Sorry

I was REALLY REALLY glad when I managed to skip the GD with my last pregnancy. Sorry about Thanksgiving. That really stinks.

I had GD with my 1st pregnancy. So, as soon as I found out I was pregnant with #2, I was watching what I eat, monitoring my blood sugar, etc. I took my 1 hour Glucose when I was 8 weeks pregnant and failed, and also failed the 4 hour one. I am now 6 months and have to take my Glucose Tests again! I just hope my diet is working and that I don't have to go on insulin.

Good luck with your results. We are going thru the same thing!

Official results - FAIL. 189. I have to go for my 3 hour test in the morning. Arrgh! I don't understand why if I had GD with 2 previous pg and I failed 1 hour test that OB couldn't go ahead and diagnose. I think it is really stupid to have to put my body through that crap. (throwing virtual tantrum..) thanks for listening.

Because sometimes, GD doesn't show up! Sorry, though; it bites.

You should be able to refuse the test and just start testing your blood. I talked to the midwife I saw yesterday and she agreed that they would rather have a woman test her own fasting levels and pick a meal here and there to test after. That way you get a more accurate picture of what your blood sugars are doing instead of testing you after sugar overload.
