QUESTION: I have hayfever. Homeopathic remedies are not helping me. I know that
pharmaceuticals such as Hismal do help me. Will this drug adversely affect my nursing
baby?

Gloria,
With your baby being well over 1 year old perhaps you could try Claritin
(which also has pediatric dosing) or perhaps Zytertec both are medications which are
generally non sedating and do not seem to cross in great amounts into mothers milk and
pass very poorly into the CNS (brain tissue -- a main concern in little ones) hence it
does not make you drowsy. Based on the data available at this time either of these
medications could be of some help with a minimal side effect profile -- barring some
unknown allergic reaction.
Good luck
