Great
breastfeeding stories that will make you smile

When my mom was expecting my little sister, my youngest brother
was 4 years old and full of questions. As my mom planned to
breastfeed, she hadn't prepared any bottles. Jake asked her where the
bottles were, and she explained breastfeeding to him. Of course, his
next question was how the baby was fed in mommy's tummy. Mom told him
that there was a cord between mommy's tummy and baby's, and that's how
the baby ate.
About a week after Esther was born, her cord was just hanging by a
thread, so mom just cut it off. Jake caught her. That night at the
supper table, Jake started in on dad that mom had hurt his baby, and
we had to take her back to the hospital so she could eat. (Mom was at
the moment breastfeeding Esther at the table.)
When dad asked what was the problem. Jake burst into tears, crying
that mom had cut off his baby's EXTENSION cord, so she couldn't eat
any more! We never laughed so hard ever again.

This was just after my shower... I hadn't found a shirt yet
- I was in the middle of changing (then 2.5 yr old) Stenson's bum when
(then 8 month old) Cameron crawled up to me, got on his hands and
knees and started nursing!
I called my husband in and he held Cameron in a football hold (still
nursing!) while I finished changing Sten's diaper. Once Stenson was
changed HE crawled up to me and started nursing! (On hands and knees.)
My husband and I got Cam into the cradle hold (still nursing!).
Cameron took one look at Stenson and started laughing! It had been so
long since they nursed at the same time that I'm not sure Stenson even
remembered! (Stenson mostly nursed at bed/naptime, so I was not
usually confronted like that.)
Anyway, it was so cute I just HAD to share! My husband wouldn't take a
picture... he said they wouldn't develop it... Nag-dabbit!

My 2 1/2 year old would still like to nurse and nursed until
he was 3. We call breastfeeding mimmers at our house. One day while I
was lying with my son for a nap he said, "With you give me
mimmers I'll give you money"!
He has also told me, "I wish I was your boobies." When I
asked why he replied, "Then I could have mimmers all the
time."

My daughter, Anna, (my fourth child out of eight) nursed for
31 months. Her son, Patrick, my first grandchild, nursed for 31
months. The summer that Patrick was 1 year old, my daughter made the
mistake of wearing a "tube" top when she went grocery
shopping.
Patrick was sitting in the seat in the grocery cart, and when he
decided he was hungry he pulled down her tube top. Needless to say,
that finished the shopping trip. She headed for the check out having a
tug of war with Patrick. He was trying to pull her tube top down and
she was trying to keep it up.
One day we were on the back porch enjoying the warm weather
and a snack of homemade chocolate chip cookies. My youngest, Tarah,
was 13 months at the time and still happily nursing. She came over to
where I was sitting and told me in her 13 month old way that she was
ready to nurse, so I pulled her up in my lap and she proceeded to
nurse.
Well, all of the sudden she pulls off and takes a bite from a cookie
she was holding in her hand (which I did not notice was there!) and
then latched back on and continued to nurse. She did this several
times until the cookie was all gone and each time she would just laugh
and smile.
I couldn't help but laugh! Tarah was enjoying the BEST milk with her
cookies!
