My poor little guy: In one week he started teething, mom started back
to work, and he had the flu!
Needless to say, putting him down for the night wasn't going well.
We usually do the "welcome into our bed" method of
co-sleeping.
My son starts the night in his crib, and then moves to our room when he wakes up in the middle of the night
around 4 am.
Not tonight!
Tonight I would nurse, he'd drop off, I'd lay him down gently, and he'd wake
up. Rinse. Repeat.
At around 1 am, as I picked him up and walked to the crib, I guess I'd
forgotten to pull my shirt down over my breast because he latched right
on again!
This gave me the giggles, but I managed to stifle them.
I stood there by the crib and thought, "now what?"
My genius 1 am mind said, "Just set him down...still
attached!"
Well, my genius mind forgot to calculate how far down the mattress
was in the crib.
I got the baby laid down, still attached, but I had to lean so far
over that my feet were dangling off the floor.
My son woke up, looked into my eyes, and started laughing!
So I started laughing too!
My husband walked in.
Can you imagine what this looked like?
"What the heck are you doing?"
I picked my dear son up and said, "Welcoming him into our bed a little bit
earlier tonight!"
