Thank You to my Daughters

by Jane

Girls...

There is no greater joy in my life than loving and raising you both.  There is a quote that says "I never knew how much love I had in my heart till someone called me mom".  I get that quote.  I get so many things in life now that I did not understand before becoming a mother.

I have always wanted to be a mom.  I have always wanted girls.  I have always wanted to do fun and adventurous things with my kids, as my parents did with me.

Here I am now and I have that chance.  I have that chance to be the best mom that I can be and to love and cherish you both forever.

Ashley Jane was born on September 2, 2005 at 10:03pm weighing 8 pounds, 5 ounces, 20 inches.  Baby girl I could not have asked for a more prefect first child.  You are pure joy.  Your smile lights up my heart.  I cannot believe you are about to turn 3 years old soon.  I am planning the most amazing princess birthday party for you over at Grandma's.  I know you will love it.

Caitlin Marie was born on April 27, 2007 at 6:09am weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 21 inches.  Cupcake you are a true gift.  Your laughter fills my soul with happiness.  You are a wonderful baby sister and mommy's angel.  You are growing up way too fast.

I want you both to know not just today that I treasure you both. (EACH AND EVERY DAY)  I have and always will be there for you.  I am writing today to thank you for being there for me now.

Pop-Pop went to Heaven last month.  Ashley, you call it "flying up in the sky". Mommy was there to see Pop-Pop leave and hold his hand so that he was not alone.  You both saw mommy crying a lot.  You both cried in my arms while mommy cried.  You both ran around with laughter in the air and smiles that lit up the room while we said goodbye to Pop-Pop with friends and family.  You asked mommy over and over again "Mommy, are you sad". I smiled and said "Mommy will be ok".

Having the two of you with me thru all of this has been what has kept mommy strong and keeps mommy going.  You are my life.  Both of you. Daddy and I love you more than anything!

So today, I thank you both for being there for mommy.  I will always be here for you both.  I love you both!  You are my everything.  Always.
Love, Mommy
