Old Milk!

by Rita Hurrell

Did it ever occur to anyone that when your baby does not empty your breast that the milk that is left over is old?

Well it occurred to my 3 year old daughter!

Sometimes when my daughter has a glass of milk before bed, and does not finish it, and leaves the remaining contents on the dinner table, then reappears the next morning to see it is still where she left it because mummy was too busy to clean up.  So she hops up on her chair and attempts to drink it, which is when I quickly inform her not to drink it because it is "old milk" and I will get her some fresh milk.

Well, as I was feeding my 4 month old son one day he was being quite fussy and was refusing the breast as they do sometimes and as I was talking gently to him and was asking him what the matter was, my daughter pipes up to inform me

"Mummy, he doesn't want it because its OLD MILK"
