My daughter Clara who just turned one was being babysat for the
first time by my parents at their home.
This was the first time I had left her for more than an hour or so and
I wasn't sure how it would go as she was still breastfeeding fairly frequently.
As the evening wore on, Clara began to get tired and realized mommy was no where to be found
for her bedtime nursing session.
She started sizing my mother up. "bub-bubs Nana?" she asked.
My mother replied that she was sorry but there was no milk in her
bub-bubs.
Clara, willing to take second best at this point and reasoning that as
Nana had the equipment there must be something in there, tried again.
"Water Nana?"
Thank goodness I returned only a few minutes later or my mother would
likely have been cornered into her first experience at wet-nursing!
